One of the Values my Mother instilled in me and reinforced over many years by Mother like mentors and role models, was the basic human need to- Wonder.
In me Wonder and Survival go hand in hand. I need Wonder to Survive and I Survive so I can Wonder.
I am very drawn to gelli printing, I feel it allows my often unwieldy art energy to be encapsulated without concealing that energy. Like Jazz in a Bubble. I wanted my Mother central collection to carry that energy in a way that was personal and universal.
The pose of the various bodies is gazing up is very easily recognizable as people looking at something.
